A Family Affair
The Compass Rose started in 2019 with the smallest intentions, just a few friends looking for a new place to call home. It wasn’t long however before we saw our numbers steadily beginning to swell. A new player needing a home here, a current member recommending one of their friends to join us there. What started as a couple of friends playing Final Fantasy XIV soon became a community numbering in the triple digits playing across multiple games together.Many call Compass Rose their home online for a multitude of different reasons: a place to keep in touch with friends they’ve met here from across the world, an escape from day to day life when things start to become too hectic, a place where they can be themselves and share their interests, or even just a place to post cringy shitposts at three in the morning.Everyone has a welcome place within our walls and years later our original slogan still holds true, “Your home for a week or your home forever, The Compass Rose will guide you to where you want to be-Clayton James (2022)
